Nexus Technology is a Dutch cooling products company which specializes in quietness and efficiency. BIOS LEVEL recently reviewed the Nexus Doubletwin hard disk mounting kit, a unique hard disk cooling device. BIOS LEVEL presents herein a review of many of Nexus' products: virtually silent fans, expansion slot covers, memory coolers, and anti-vibration mounting accessories.
The MTK-6000 Mounting Kit includes 24 rubber fan mounts, 12 rubber grommets and screws, four rubber feet, and 20 tie wraps.
The rubber fan mounts, 12 for open chassis fans and 12 for closed chassis fans, quiet the fan by reducing the amount of vibration noise the fan generates. The fan mounts are easy to install and do make a noticeable difference in noise level.
12 rubber grommets and screws silence hard drive vibration noise "by isolating the mounted hard disk drive from the case chassis."
The four soft, rubber feet are meant to be replacements for the hard, rubber or plastic feet often found on the bottom of cases. Computers generate vibration noise sitting just about any hard surface, so these feet aim to reduce that vibration.
Lastly, the kit contains 20 tie wraps. Efficient cable management is key for an excellently cooled computer.
