HXR-5500 Heat Pipe Memory Cooler

The HXR-5500 Heat Pipe Memory Cooler is compatible with all forms of DDR memory DIMMs: DDR, DDR2, and DDR3. It has thermal pads on the inside to assist in moving the heat from the memory modules to the base cooler and into the 5 mm heat pipe, where flowing air cools the unit. Nexus produces the heat pipe memory cooler in three colors: blue, black, and silver.

Installation is easy. I removed the screws on the rear of the unit, placed a stick of RAM into it, and replaced the screws.

Final thoughts

Nexus makes some very high quality cooling devices. I will certainly be using these devices in my own builds. It would be great to see a memory vendor adopt Nexus' heat pipe cooler as a standard bundled cooling device.

I would have liked to see perhaps velcro tie wraps instead of disposable plastic wraps. That's really my only beef with any of these products.
