First Look

The device is pretty cool looking despite its utilitarian purpose and location within the case. The metal structure is white with markings saying which holes to use according to how many hard disks the unit will house. The black pylons are constructed of silicon rubber, and are thus bendable yet strong enough to support the weight of two hard drives hanging in the unit.

Installation

The installation was quick and painless. I chose to use thumbscrews to secure a Samsung and a Maxtor hard drive into the Doubletwin. I then used thumbscrews again to mount the Doubletwin in a 5.25" bay of the case. The contraption hangs down a little, but that's a good thing: the rubber with dampen the noise caused by the vibration of the drives' spinning. Unfortunately, but necessarily, the device obstructs two 5.25" bays when using two drives. If using just one drive, it will fit in one 5.25" bay.
