Introduction

Power users of non-linear video editing programs may remember the knobs and wheels found on linear video editing systems. These knobs helped the editor move back and forth in the production quickly and logically: a movement to the left went back in time, a movement to the right went forward. In 2005, Griffin Technology introduced its PowerMate 1040-PMT USB knob. This neat little device once again enabled users to scroll quickly through whatever scrollable material they were viewing. This knob, however, was stationary. It allowed click and scroll, but no actual mouse movements.

Orbita Mouse, whose parent company is Cyber Sport, the parent company of BIOS LEVEL favorite Cyber Snipa, released recently its first product, the self-titled Orbita mouse. This mouse is the first of its kind. It has the knob functionality and is a mouse! It has a reorientation feature and can do alternate scroll axes, too. BIOS LEVEL checks out this little puck-like device to see if it is as useful to a computer user as a curved stick is to a hockey player.
